Enjoy the beautiful contrasts of Kumamoto Castle and the lovely cherry blossoms. Relax in Yufuin, a hot-spring town, and be captivated by its stunning nature. Explore Lake Kinrinko and Mt Yufu where the pale pink cherry blossoms are on stage with vivid canola flowers. This magnificent scenic adventure, showcasing Kyushu’s nature and onsen, will sooth your body and your soul.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Fukuoka
Explore the largest city in Kyushu, Fukuoka, at your own pace. Visit Kushida Jinja Shrine, called ‘Okushida-san’, founded in 757. Discover Hakata (Fukuoka)’s local foods at the Yanagibashi Rengo Market. Visit Maizuru Park, Fukuoka-Joshi (ruins of Fukuoka Castle) and enjoy the lighting-up of the cherry blossoms at night.

Day 2: Fukuoka – Kagoshima
Board a train to Kagoshima. Explore Kagoshima city. Visit Senganen Garden, a Japanese style, landscaped garden. See the stunning contrasts between the cherry blossoms, the ultramarine coloured ocean and the imposing Sakurajima.
Accommodation: Kagoshima – 2 nights
Day 3: Kagoshima – Sakurajima Island – Kagoshima
Take an excursion to Sakurajima Island, the active volcanic mountain island. Witness a wonder of nature with superb views from the observation deck. The Sakurajima Shizen Kyoryu Koen Park provides you with the beautiful combination of Nishikiwan Bay and cherry blossoms.
Day 4: Kagoshima – Kumamoto
Travel to Kumamoto, famous for its black castle and an exquisite Japanese garden, Suizenji Park. The combination of the elegant Kumamoto Castle and approximately 800 cherry blossom trees in bloom is a masterpiece of Japanese beauty. Explore the city in your own time, ensuring you pass by the high-class Hosokawa samurai residence.

Day 5: Kumamoto – Yufuin
Take a train to Yufuin, a quaint little hot spring town. Discover the local delicacies of sweets and snacks as you amble towards Lake Kinrinko. Stroll around Yufu-shizen-yuhodo path along the Oita-gawa River and Yufutsuegawa River to meet the amazing vista of cherry blossoms, canola flowers and Mt Yufu. Chillax in a tranquil Japanese inn in this mountain onsen hamlet.

Day 6: Yufuin – Fukuoka
Discover Fukuoka city at leisure. Take a walk and refresh at Nishi Koen Park, approximately 1,300 cherry blossom trees. Enjoy the panoramic view of Fukuoka city from the observation deck of Fukuoka Tower. Visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, dedicated to the god of learning. Complete your shopping at Canal City Hakata, a huge shopping and entertainment mall. Then visit Nakasu to savour Fukuoka’s famous Tonkotsu Ramen at the Yatai food stands!

Day 7: Fukuoka – Fukuoka International Airport
